Because you’re mine…

I’ve been thinking of making manlaces for a while now.  Today I made a couple!  This one features a quote from a Johnny Cash song:
“Because you’re mine, I walk the line…”

A significant moment in rock and roll/country music because it hits the nail on the head in terms of what your partner should do for you over your lifetime together!  You should make each other want to be better people.  You should make each other walk the line.  At least that’s how I gauge a good match.
The idea was to make a necklace that a guy might actually wear that’s nice enough for a girl to steal every now and again.  I decided that a dog tag style necklace might do the trick.  This one has been roughed up and weathered in order to match your man’s 5 o’clock shadow and old jean jacket.  Other features include a 19 inch chain and a rivet where the bail passes through the tag.  I whipped up another necklace today for RW.  His says, “Know when to hold ’em.”  He considers himself a gambling man so I thought it was quite appropriate.  Let me know what you think and head on over to the shop in the next while because I’m doing an update as your eyes peruse this blog post!
I hope your Monday was swell.
If not, there’s always Tuesday!
XO
PS
The Manlace looks like this on an actual man:

I meant to snap this photo of RW wearing the manlace yesterday so I could let you see what it actually looks like on a hunk, but he was doing something in the yard with a chainsaw.  Isn’t he smokin’???

Love the new rings…love how you change and mix and create.
If I had to pick a line to put on a man necklace, that would be it. First because it is meaningful and second because it reminds me of Johnny Cash, what a sublime voice.

    xo

  2. A RIVET eh?!???? Well done sister!!! I simply must hear more about this…

Hey, the avocado ring is pretty awesome, and as you, my avocado seeds have never advanced beyond a certain stage.

I think they need to be in CA (or equivalent) soil to grow.

    Hello Plume,

    Connecting to you from SunnyRising.

    Manlaces – yes!

Now, I would be interested in a “Know when to fold ’em” – I’ve been “accused” of “folding ’em” on several occasions. I have a different perspective, but suffice to say would wear “Know when to fold ’em” proudly…or even both lines.

M: Thanks honey! RW is crazy for Cash as well. I’m sure you two would make compatible DJ’s!

    Em: Skype date.

M: I’m wondering if they only like to grow in climates. I tried one in Northern CA and in Arizona without any luck. I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow and I’ll be sure to add a mighty avocado to my fruit basket…I’ll let you know how the new pit comes along…or if it’s the pits.

Ann; Well I think that’s a good thing! Some people don’t stop until they’re out of chips:)

Sean and I were rocking out to it on our way back from photographing the off road races and on our way to photograph Lance Armstrong as he pedaled his way through our neck of the woods.
Lots o’ travellin and so many great memories along the way! Miss you, Plume! Come visit next time you are down south.

Q: Oh lady. I can’t wait to see your suspension system living room in the near future! We’ll let you know when we make the trip down to SD. Besides, we can’t keep our lovebirddogs apart forever:)

    Mme: 🙂

Miss Kelly: Well if I can find other vintage flower cabochons…most certainly!

No. The surfboard is in the living room along with a growing gallery of our photos.
A good majority of the suspension system products are in the bedroom. It’s pretty romantic. Don’t worry, it’s a BIG bedroom.

Suspension in the bedroom? What if there’s an earthquake? This is not a safe situation. No not at all.

  12. Love it!

Though, not to be a critic here…I honestly would like the
“I walk the line” (for a man) on a longer chain, so to hit lower on the sternum? just my opinion. 🙂

  13. The Noisy Plume: says

    AH HA!
    See.
I wasn’t sure about chain length.

  14. awww. robert makes such a good model. love the chainsaw comment too. my man’s a banker. hehe. equally manly in a completly metropolitan way 😉

    TOTALLY Nun.
He could cut down a tree with his briefcase:)

  16. Hi Roberoo!!! I made my hunk a necklace once but he wouldn’t let me put anything on it… it’s just a chain… 🙁

  17. I thought he gave up betting when he lost and bought us dinner at the pizza pub.

I still day dream about the poky warehouses… We looking at warehouses in Down town San Diego this weekend… Maybe in a year or two. We’ll have you guys over for a slumber party.

  18. The Noisy Plume: says

Seanny: That was a spendy dinner:) Perhaps once you are rich and famous you can buy a warehouse in Pokey as well.
