Thanks for all your well wishes for my climbing jaunt yesterday! I actually used to climb about 20 hours a week in my home town (gym rat) and even managed the climbing gym in Saskatoon for a stint. BUT. I’ve never been so spoiled in my life to have crags that I can BIKE to! I’ve been zipping about the wall at the University but moving up and over real rock was an utter delight yesterday. I could feel my climbing obsession welling up inside all five points of contact:)
[this is my patagonia supermodel pose…]
I used to be a she-beast.
For those of you who DO climb and know about ratings, I have bouldered V6…I’m no Lynn Hill but I could hold my own with a pack of climber boys. I think I’ve probably lost about 15 pounds of back and arm muscle over the years I spent non-climbing in Arizona…EW. That’s like 15 boxes of butter…gross.
The rock was warm yesterday. It was a delight to bask in it while waiting for a belay. Basalt is especially lovely for it’s bubbly texture. A girl can hang on with just her pinky finger sometimes. God bless volcanoes.
I love rock.
I considered majoring in geology for a stint…
…luck and divine blessing would have it that I would get to work with it anyway in my destined vocation.
[imperial jasper in hues of chocolate brown and sassy pink in a straightforward sterling setting IT SAYS SO MUCH WITH SO LITTLE: AN UNCLUTTERED AND CONCISE DESIGN]
[imperial jasper & sterling silver in a really fuss free setting THIS RING IS BEAUTIFUL]
[imperial jasper and sterling silver buttons]
Actually inspired by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button…which happens to be at the cheap theater here in town…this ring won’t make you grow young but I blessed it while melding its components and it will keep you young at heart.
And I saved my favorite for last!
Dendritic Opal and sterling silver. Scrumptious. I’ve got another cabochon similar to this one in a more elongated oval shape that I have been hoarding for a couple of years now. It is for me. But I cannot, for the life of me, decide what to do with it!
I feel a bit like I’m casting it’s twin out into the world with the fabrication and eventual sale of this ring. A bit sad. A bit glad.
I, most unfortunately, have to zip out into the valley for an hour or two this afternoon so I’m not sure if I’ll get all my rings listed before I leave for the day but I’m-a-gonna try. Thanks for your patience! And happy Wednesday!
Trills and Whistles,
PLUME
:::EDIT:::
Holy gosh!
I just finished updating the Etsy shop and a big thank you to all the ladies
who shopped tonight! I’m always blown away by how quickly things leave the shelves! Thank you thank you.
And a smooch and hug to the girls who were snaked:)
Better luck next time!
XO
I love looking at the different patterns in the stones of your jewelry. It’s always like looking at an interesting crop of a photo. Even though you can crop the same photo infinitely, each one is completely different. It amazes me how the same stone can vary between vein-y patterns or blocks of color or geometric lines. Beautiful!
I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll get a chance with one of your square-ish rings. Super glad to see you out and about in the nature and I’m glad you enjoyed your date!
I’ve seen you hang on with only your pinky. I’ve seen you pull yourself up with only a pinky! You literally have more strength in your little finger than I do in my whole arsenal of fingers.
Awesome pictures you little she-beast! I love them. I wish I could climb as I do very much love the mountains but I fear climbing like that. I almost did geology too…fascinating, and no scratches on your fingers!
Love the photo of the shadows…love the rings…I am smiling.
miss you to pieces today. that green scarf had a home on my white chair for a few blessed days. my white chair misses your green scarf. my pink soul misses your orange heart.
hmm… I think a climbing video post is in order! (I just watched Lynn Hill on youtube… dang.)
Maybe I’ll put my climbing shoes on and go boulder around the moldings of the baseboards in my apt. (ha)
i never knew this about you! one thing i cherish most is these little tidbits of revelation over the years…and despite our 1 yr anniversary approaching (or past?) i know you will continue to unfold before me in due seasons and stages…
ever budding & ever loved, you are.
smoochies.
Congrats today…you’re itsy bitsy necklace made the ETSY front page while I was signing on just now!!! Lovely photos of your newest work…now I’m trying catch a ring of yours…perhaps tonight! LOve YoU, LoVe youR WOrk!

xo.mas
I’m trying to picture you with 15 pounds of upper body muscle on you – and all I can imagine is one of those female body builders……it’s actually a pretty funny image….
Miss Skinny Swallow and I went out for a run yesterday, we both gossiped like like girls of how jealous we were that you were out climbing! *We were doing high knees through the snow neighbors neglected to shovel* The foot hills are still recovering from our 3-Spring Blizzards…soon, ooh sooon we will be out there with our mother rock earth. And someday I’ll be able to buy one of your creations ; )
You are quite the Renaissance Woman! I don’t know where else I could read/learn about rock climbing AND see such amazing silvery creations.
WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE BOOTS
they’re almost as lovely as the rings and the wearer
wanna teach me to climb?!
Thanks for these wonderful comments chickiepies!
I think you should all come out to Pocatello…we’ll build a shanty town out of colorful tents here at The Gables and I’ll take you all climbing with me on that warm basalt this weekend.
Who’s in?
Oh.
Jordan, the boots are Frye Boots.
You can find them anywhere…I’ve worn them 6 days straight. They are bootalicious.
i am so in, just say When! i’ve got my little green tent and my draws packed! i’ve been needing some lady climber buds these days.
