Cold Wind, Zealous Sun

I went to heaven this weekend.
Here in Idaho.
Thick granite fangs thrust high into a perfect blue sky made a perfect perch for me.
A cold wind tempered a zealous sun.
I was one more thing to sprout out of rock and brush up against the atmosphere.

All four of us up top now and little me, still perched in my top-belay nest,
unclipping, cleaning and strapping everything to my waist (30 pounds heavier, I joined them for a snack with a view shortly after this snapshot).
No shots of me climbing.  Only shots of my top belaying nest.

THE WAIT BETWEEN BELAYS.

And out of the most unexpected places,
things are growing…

…do dogs have cracks?
If so:  TRIPLE CRACK

BECAUSE WHEN IT’S ALL SAID AND DONE
I LIVE TO FEEL THE PRESENCE OF GOD
TO BE IN THE SPACE I FOUND
IN THE SKY
ATOP THE ROCK
WAS TO BRUSH UP AGAINST THE FOOT
OF HIS THRONE
TO WITNESS THE GENIUS
OF HIS DESIGNS
TO BE ACUTELY AWARE OF THE POWER AND GLORY OF GOD
IS TO TRULY LIVE

Whew! Beautiful! I know the feeling and can smell the air! The doggies are precious too.

PS- I am working hard on school notes and in between taking Plumy breaks, which is why you see me NOW.

    Good day dear Plume!

That last part, it reminded me of how I felt at the top of fourteeners, looking out across all the Rocky Mountain peaks. Such a moment of awe combined with being humbled by His ability to create far beyond what we can even imagine for ourselves.

  8. When is your photography book going to be for sale again? 🙂 I particularly love the one of the dogs in the snowy crevice. Thanks for sharing your Idaho with us!

  9. The piccie of your two dogs in the crevice makes me laugh because it just screams to be captioned. In fact, I started to write some in this comment…but they sound funnier in my head and I fear embarrassment. Haha. Regardless…I’m happy to see your weekend was spent well, in the sunshine with ferns and moss and granite! I hope it inspires the rest of your week!

Climbing… Only the best form of relaxation… ahh, I adore hitting the rock too… granit is my favorite I like how it is so easy to stick, and it warms my heart to know that not only do you work with such earth infused elements you play with them too;)

    Fitting, indeed!
