Boy howdy the yard is smelling great!
Besides the bevy of fruit trees and grapevines here at Plume Gables, I just discovered three lilac trees in the yard. It’s sniffy delicious at the moment but I may go straight to heaven when the lilacs pop. Are there any other lilac fans out there?
I’m just back from running with Farley in the hills and it was heady indeed. The University area in town is pink, yellow white and red with blossoming trees. It was all I could do to put one foot in front of the other when I was struck with the desire to lay down beneath a crab apple tree and simply breathe.
SOMETIMES
BREATHING IS
GOOD.
RW had field day today. He and his crew hiked 12.3 miles up and down mountains in full line gear (45 pound packs, hand tools, chainsaws and fuel). He’s tired. So am I. We’re laying about in bed watching our single television channel. The Office (American version) just ended..I think that chick is pregnant…
I’m off to list a few earring in the Etsy shop!
I hope your all well!

PS
Smooch!
Those minnow earrings are LOVELY. I had to hold my clicking hand back. I’m saving up for a perhaps future custom order.
Enjoy the rest of your lazy evening. I’m about to tune into the office meself.
oh yeah. SUCH a huge lilac fan. i really enjoy burying my face in the flowers as often as i can. mmmmmm, the best!
…i flew those lilacs in just for you…XOXO…now you’ll be sending me a very special VIOLET…
sometimes when i breathe in…
i feel laughter…
it is an ocean of laughter…
it lasts 4 just one second…
I am so in love with lilacs. We don’t have a yard, so I don’t have any at home, but I’ve seen them starting to bud around town on my walks.
There are lots out at my partner’s mother’s home so I know I can snatch some from there!
Ohhh, I love lilacs too, ours are about to bloom, dark purple ones.
I also love the necklace that you have on in the last photo, its beautiful with the flowers on it! 🙂
I don’t know why but I am not a lilac fan but I am certainly your fan..lovely pictures as usual..
i’m a lilac lover from early childhood on; there were two trees that pushed into the screens of my bedroom window as a young girl — one white and one more blue than purple. i used to sit on my bed with the windows open and not want to move for hours — just at peace with Gd because of the lilacs’ scent.
anyway, i also want to say, i love your new necklaces, especially the one you’re wearing today; just amazing. wow! i love to watch you grow. and i love to have the privilege of borrowing some of your pieces while for my stay on this planet.
hugs,
i
Marina Bo Bina: Saving is good:) But those Minnow Earrings are splendide (say it like a french woman). The Office was good huh? Sometimes I find it painful to watch that show (the British version especially) because it seems impossible that human beings could be so uncouth.
Jordan: I KNEW you had to be a lilac lady! I love to cut them and bring the scent inside. I’m hoping it doesn’t get too hot too fast so that the blooms don’t burn up too quickly. Love you girl.
Nancy: Purple for purple is a good exchange!!! One second of that feeling is about all we humans can bear — ecstasy must come in small doses.
Fawn: You need a yard!!! Gretchen needs a yard!!!
XO
Rustic: I’ve got two purple lilacs and one white lilac! I’m hoping mine have very dark blooms. So lovely! And thank you sweet doll for that nice compliment on the latest hanging garden!
Little Jeans: Well what then, pray tell, IS your favorite springy bloom??? I know you have flowers year round where you are…but there must be one flower in particular that you love and adore above all the rest.
I: Oh I know that feeling of being under the spell of lilacs, and all of creation for that matter. My favorite lilac experiences involve biking along the Saskatchewan River in my home town of Saskatoon when the lilacs are in their peak. The scent washes over a girl like rogue ocean swells as she cuts through the pockets of scent under the green canopy of the elm trees.
Sigh.
There’s no place like home in the summer time.
I’ve been bit by the flower bug as you can see with the hanging garden necklaces. Thank you for appreciating them! I have four that are being held for the Missoula show but I’ll be sure to make a couple for the Etsy shop before long.
XO
that draping cardie and that necklace seem to echo hues of loupie…
and i love it.
I will go for dogwood, if the blooms have to be on trees; I will go for bottlebrush if they have to be in CA; I will go for bougainville if they have to sound exotic; I will go for cherry blossom if they have to be in DC
Lilac does not register on my brain buds.
I can name more…ha ha
BRAIN BUDS…HA HAAAA!!!!!!!!
And what a pretty brain you have:)
Now get back to your test tubes!

I love watching Plume Gables come alive during the spring time.
I’ve been quite enjoying the night blooming jasmine just outside the barn. I love to sit on the porch swing around sunset when all is still and quiet and breathe in that delicious smell.
Oh cowgirl.
Come for a visit this summer….I’m booked for travels away but I’d love to have you for a stint.
We’ll wear our green chrysoprase, levi’s and boots and sip lemonades on the front porch as the sun falls below the West bench.
I flipping LOVE the Office (american version only) – sooo good!
