Awe – you must be thrilled to have him home! There are fires raging all over Okanogon here in BC – over 17000 have had to leave their homes. I sure do respect the men and woman who throw themselves into the thick of it to try and quench them!

…you know. It's because he's a manly man. There's a shortage of manly men in the world today. Half of the guys out there are obsessed with their hair, get manicures and don't have a clue as to how to do an oil change on their truck (if they even HAVE a truck). I pity the women of the world who are on a hunt for a man and cannot find one.

PS About the "insanely hot" comment from Westie. The uniform helps. I should take a photo sometime of all the boys in their greens when I drop RW off at work. It's like man-heaven out there at the BLM office. They all look so slim and tall and strapping. I get all swoony. There's really nothing like a fellow in a uniform. (My baby sister Toby will testify, she's seen the crew in full-fledged green. She got all swoony too.)

Your photos and these comments make me smile…none of these folks have that smoke smell burning their noses…Penelope's face in that photo sort of reveals that aspect of a firefighter's homecoming, though! We have to have rules about where Doug's fire gear can stay in the house…and about how quickly it hits the washing machine and what else can be in there with it (NOTHING).
