RW and I just finished dinner. It was scrumptious. Utterly scrumptious.
1. Steamed string beans from our summer garden.
2. Spaghetti squash with brown sugar and butter.
3. Leftover mashed potatoes from Thanksgiving.
4. Small cuts of elk back strap (steak) and small cuts of antelope back strap (steak).
Oh Lord. I’m a bottomless pit. I’m considering taking some spaghetti squash into bed while I read my book…it’s the time of year for eating. That it is.
Well. I was hard at work today between 6:30AM and 5:00PM.
The pretty provisions include BUT are not limited to (THAT’S RIGHT! I’M NOT SHOWING YOU EVERYTHING!):
[Burro Creek Jasper & sterling silver]
This Ring + Jillian = Proof of Jillian’s addiction to tall rings.
A recent exploration and exercise in balancing!
I was inspired by the sandstone formations of Utah whilst in Arches National park the other week and found myself sketching all sorts of wonky designs that feature hollow formed portions of metal balancing on all sorts of things. I love how they look slightly precarious but are utterly stable. Just love it. This isn’t an every day ring and should be reserved for the times when you feel you need to kick a little aesthetic *SS…for some of you, that might be every single day and I, as your procureacle (not a real word) of fine jewels, will support you in that.
SHAZAMMM.
[agate, grey moonstone & sterling silver]
Every time I make an Inbetween Ring I feel like I spend the majority of my day saying shazammm. It’s because this design has stature and strength despite the fact that it is an attempt to depict the itty bitty building blocks of organic matter! Small and mighty. Tiny and strong. That’s the cell. Do not take this one home and show it to momma. She’ll confiscate it and send you to bed without your dinner. It’s so pretty but so doggone bad to the bone.
What to say about this necklace.
Only one word suffices: Perfect.
I take all sorts of details into consideration whilst designing a piece of jewelry around a stone. I like a finished piece to be balanced. I usually achieve this. But let me say, this necklace is PERFECTLY balanced despite the extreme asymmetrical nature of the design. Plus it features a positively delightful cabochon in demure shades of pink, peach and brown. Oh Lordy. I don’t know if I can let my people go when it comes to this one. LURVE.
These little beauties and little beasts will be in the Etsy shop for your consideration sometime this week!
I hope you’ve had a lovely day!
I’m off to snuggle RW in our new skyscraper bed!
Love,
The Noisy Plume
What an eyeful, how gorgeous! I love my little nomad, and will always remain wild and free xxx
Is that Moonstone I see? MMMM..
yep.
SHAZAMMM! I love that ring, and the pearl and sterling ring is just SO AWESOME! Lovely work, as always! 🙂
this whole post is dedicated to skyscraper jewelry, jilly…you have a skyscraper soul.
…love the suspense…love the surprise…the slip & sneak…for sometime this week…EVERYTHING looks BODACIOUS…real word…blend of bold & audacious… (slang for sexy, voluptuous)…yeehaw…
Jilly, I am officially re-naming you 'the fastest jewellers saw in the West'!….I feel so pokey…I can't believe you produced all these lovelies ( and more, you have hinted?) in one day?!
wowsa…lightning blade!
( those of you who mess with metal know what I'm a-talkin' about)! 🙂

No kidding Kerin – she amazes me, in all realms!
Oh my, does that dinner sound delectable. What you're previewing looks delectable. Thanks ever so for offering such an array of words and images for our delectation!
Procureacle…HA! Lovely word, freshly coined, real as can be!
Floating on clouds in a skyscraper bed…ahhhhhhh. I was with Uumaa and her cousin and three other white wild and woolies in the country hills yesterday, where mist lay in the valleys. Lovely. Not so lovely when the whole pack came upon a field freshly spread with manure and began eating and rolling in it. Not one but FIVE stinkers this time.
Now is the time of year to store up energy for the long winter ahead.
The days are getting shorter and shorter and even during the day the sun has been hiding from us. Oh! I should put on my sunny necklace! I'll carry a sun with me.
Jillian to the rescue!
Perfect. Asymmetry is my personal aesthetic, these fit.
Lovely work.
My father went to Saskatoon on a Ball Hockey trip when I was little. I dreamt of the imagined place for the whole time he was gone. It was like the Northern Lights in my mind, with sparkly ice…Perhaps that explains your art…
a
Lovely, all of them…
Aw. These are all such lovely comments to wake up to!
But I must correct a common misconception:
I did not make all of this jewelry in one day. I do have a doggone fast jewelers saw but not THIS fast:) A couple of these necklaces were finished two weeks ago…and some of the components to other pieces were made over the weekend. I do appreciate your sweet and unfounded belief that I really am superhumanly fast with the solder and saw:) It puts a smile on my face!!! Truth be told, I'm a bit of a tortoise.
XO
Miss Plume,
Do you plan on making any smaller, simpler cabochon pieces for us quiet and shy ladies before you leave?
Ah my sweet, you did go with us in spirit on the hike, as your wild and free nomad was on that hike. xx
Laura
I thought as much.
And Beansi, I'll try to get some smaller items made for inconspicuous ladies this week!
XO
Wowsers! This ring is substantial, I think it belongs in the modern art museum! and then taken out for benefit balls on occasion:))))
Love it!
