Chartreusie Wins

I think I knew, all along, that Chartreusie was meant for this space…..especially after seeing that little love seat playing host to my knitting project (which I’m going to finish in about 20 minutes).

OOH

YEAH

JUST RIGHT

Fear not! I found a very good spot for little Orangie as well. Doesn’t she look dashing beneath my green storm window and my coat rack? I love her. I love her orange velvet so much that I’ve caught myself petting her, absentmindedly, a few times now.
PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
By the way, about that green storm window, above Orangie, I use it to display my necklace collection. I have another one across the room from greenie which also holds my personal necklace collection. Clever, oui? One day, this summer past, I found myself thinking, “IT SEEMS UNFAIR THAT PAINTERS AND SCULPTORS ARE ABLE TO DISPLAY THEIR WORK IN THEIR HOMES, ON THEIR WALLS. I’M GOING TO DO THE SAME WITH SOME OF MY PIECES...”
And so I did. I love it. I found the window panes at a local antique shop. I added the hanging hardware and rusty little nails to hang the jewelry upon…
When I go to select a necklace for the day, I just stroll
out and pull one off a window. Just lovely.
Thanks for helping me out with this decor pickle!
You’re very sensible women, indeed.
XO

  1. well, I was just wondering what book you are reading. It has a lovely cover and looks like an interesting read!

  2. Loverly loveseat 🙂 Like the orangie too!

Oh my gosh, I love the window necklace rack. Your work should DEFINITELY be displayed–it's as much a piece of art as a sculpture or a painting. I love it!

That is totally rad — and your pieces are most certainly display worth works of art! But just think — paints and sculptors don't get to show of their pieces to the world wherever they go like you do!

  5. I have a rescued storm window and have been wondering what to do with it. I love the way you hung it… thanks for the idea!

I have a closet that was added to the bedroom and so there is an alcove where the head of the bed fits as well as a small dresser…I have some hooks on the side of that closet "wall" that creates the alcove for hanging clothes, nightshirts…and above I put nails for my jewelry which includes some Plumage! My husband (a recent acquisition :)! ) noticed and thought how beautiful and took photos to capture it – we are both amateur photographers, I had not thought to take a photo…

I think loved jewelry IS beautiful art – on the body or on the wall. I do love your use of the window as well!

HA! I've been doing the same thing–displaying jewelry on the wall or in dishes on tabletops or on a wooden artist's model hand. Especially Plumage, of course.

    😉

So glad orangie has found a cute new home that doesn't overwhelm her.

So, can you please put up a photo of the window with your personal necklace collection? I also like to decorate this way and I'd love to see what it looks like.

Thanks for these lovely comments, you wild pack of peaches.

I'll try to get a photo of the other necklace window sometime soon…it's kind of in a dark corner in the inbetween room so whenever I happen to be in the house, during the brightest part of the day, I'll snap a photo for you.
