New Baubles and a Tragic Tale

Good Monday to you, sweet neighbors!
I’m doing a shop update today and these are my offerings!
All of these pieces will fall into the Etsy shop like rainy smatterings throughout the day since I have to work around a handful of appointments in town.  Your patience is appreciated, as always!

In other news:
Send me happy thoughts today,
I fear that tragedy has descended upon Plume Gables
and I’m a rather sad to announce that my beloved Vesper, with her curly feathered cheeks,
has gone to chicken heaven.
Poor Judith is so terribly lonesome.
Oh woe is me.

xx

    Oh, sweets, I'm sorry…

it does happen, my Grandma does says that there are some chickens that were just not put together right, and turkeys are just looking for a place to die…

Okay, now that I've written it, it doesn't sound too consoling since you did have only two darlings, which you adore, so I will say I cry when no one is looking and we have to put one under these soil too.

    so sorry.

  16. oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear about Vesper. I am sending comforting thoughts your way, and hopefully a bit of sunshine as well.

  17. sylvestris says

Oh no, J! What sad news! I was so delighting in the pair even remotely, but they were your friends. Vesper was a beauty with a glint of wild wisdom in her eye. I send you a big hug…and the thought that even as Judith is sad, she will need a kinshen of Vesper by her side before long, and when she gains that companion, you'll be glad too.

  37. The Noisy Plume: says

Dearest one and all who have taken the time to send me a word, a frowny face or a smiley face of comfort:

    Thank you.

Also, please know, that Judith was lonesome enough that we made pilgrimage to a nearby city where a poultry professor for the University of Idaho resides and swooped up not one but TWO new sisters for Judith from his crazy flock of hens.

One of the new chicks is a snow white Ameraucana and the other is a sassy sort of exotic breed that lays pointed eggs.

    Both seem sweet.
    Judith seems relieved.
And my home is perfectly poultried once again.

    xx

  38. Fruition says

  41. stregata says

So sad to already take leave of Vesper 🙁
But so happy to hear Judith has new chicks to cuddle and flock with :))

  42. thebearaffair says

Oh my, I am so happy for Judith and you. I have been so disturbed ever since I read about Vesper and now I can rest assured that Judith has someone to cuddle with once again and chirp around with at the Plume Gables. Thank goodness and good night to all. Perhaps we could name them Quatro and Cinco …..no??? Ok, let's think about this new brood for a moment and come up with some very fine signage……..XXOO Sally

  43. The Noisy Plume: says

    Nicest people ever = you.

  44. The Noisy Plume: says

I feel like I say that all the time.
"Hey Robbie K….aren't people just SOooOOOoooo nice? All the time??? They really are. Aren't they?"

    Yup. That's what I say.

    xx

  45. It seems little Vesper went off to chicken heaven all too soon. I'm thinking happy thoughts for you and Judith. Glad you were able to get Judith some new chickie companions.

  46. Mountaindreamers says

Some wee lives are too short. I know Vesper is in a fluffy downy nest in the next existence. Energy transforms and her sweet little energy has moved along. I am glad you found some company for Judith xx

  47. HouseThatCrowBuilt says

So sorry to hear about Vesper. She looked like such a little cutie. I have been showing the progression of the chicks to my 8yo daughter and she is sad about your loss too. I will have to show her the new chickens when you post pics.

  48. I'm so sorry about your little chickie, that is so sad. You should make a necklace that looks like her to remember her by – maybe she'll inspire a new series! And just go right out and get another one so Judith has a buddy and you aren't sad anymore!
    Katy

  49. sending much love
    🙁

  50. Goodness gracious- the jewels were so lovely that they lifted me up only to land with a THUD…
I have to admit that little Vesper was my favorite:(
Many, many, many good thoughts and waves of love are on their way to Plume Gables…

  51. The Noisy Plume: says

    🙂
    Sorry for the thud.
I was in a rather sad and blunt mood yesterday.
    xx

  52. UmberDove says

Oh miss… I'm writing you elsewhere right now…

  53. Congrats on your new chicky-doos!! Little tweetlets. 🙂 So happy for you – hope they all get along flockingly swell! 🙂

  54. ~ Lora Hart Jewels ~ says

So sorry for your loss. They're both so very sweet and I know that Judith will miss her.

  55. Oh good, Judith get's to be a big sister! that will keep her hands full and distract her from her sad loss.
I have to say when I saw the finished rabbit necklace product I had regrets!! It turned out so fabulous, I really like the dangly you added. made it more whimsical.
    as for small pleasures…

    1. face in a bag of new coffee beans, inhaling deeply.
    2. Sun warmed blackberries.
    3. the cush of new running shoes on a dirt trail.

to happy chicken times to come and Vesper gone but not forgotten!

  56. angela walker jewelry says

    RIP Vesper……

  57. Confession: One of my chicklettes passed within 24 hours of bringing her home. I replaced her ASAP…but her replacement turned out to be a rooster! Not quite sure what to do yet with that conundrum!

  58. Oh, poor little chick – I loved seeing her grow on your blog posts and I know how much it hurts to lose a loved one. Pets are so wonderful — They let us love them without limits and it hurts when our hands are suddenly empty. I am glad that Judith has company again. I hope that you are finding comfort in many things.

    Three small pleasures:

Okay I have to name four at least . . .

    1. Getting and giving really long squeezy good hugs, not the halfhearted pat-pat kind.

    2. Fresh sweet orange juice

    3. Hearing the birds hollering at each other in the early am.

    4. Knowing something is on its way to me in the mail – can be anything, even a lipstick or a used book, I just love getting little packages of any sort.

    PMing you . . .

    e-hug!
    (((((you)))))

  59. The Noisy Plume: says

Thanks for all the chicken love, dear friends!!!

I'm going to try to photograph the new ladies for you this afternoon.

Devon! GUFFAW!!!!!!!! Good luck with the rooster!!!

Paula, you know I'd give you one of those crazy, squeezy bear hugs!!! xxxx

    AND KISSES FOR YOU ALL!
    You're amazing!
    xx
