1. Mosquitoes (there were plenty when I took this photo).
2. Watermelon juice sliding down my arm and into my elbow-pit.
3. Fishing Rainey Creek.
4. My favorite fishing cover up shirt buttoned to the neck to keep the aforementioned mosquitoes out!
5. Being at the lake, taking a dip in cold water, watching the pollens rise up off the conifers and take to the wind.
What is summer to you?
PS Did I mention fishing?????……….

To me it seems to be a down time…I think I'll move NORTH next year…
Though I do love the nights "of rain and stars"…
xo
Andrea
…….move North and you'll get down time and some aurora (so good for the cosmicness of the soul). xx
Summer to me is hair damp from sweat sticking to the back of my neck, the way sun -feels- on your arms when it's at its strongest, Saturday morning at the farmer's market making conversation with the Mennonite ladies there to sell their bread and little kid's clothes…
Iced coffee and brown sugar with milk every morning…
Cicada sounds from dawn 'til dusk and the middle of the night sometimes, too.
Deer getting brash and a little bit brave and coming ever closer to us on our evening walks…
Our cat a flopped out mass on our bed, watching me with constantly moving eyes but too hot to actually come over for a pet. She just makes a sad face and waits for me to notice.
You're right.
That IS summer.
Mmm summer is farmer's markets, peaches, corn on the cob, long cool walks at night, campfires, a cold beer on a patio & running through sprinklers!
PS. The word verification I just typer for that last comment was "minifyin" which I might try to work in my vocab from now on.
Thunder and lightning and rain, oh my ……that is what summer is to me up in the White Mountains of Arizona:O) At least for the month of July!!
I would tell you what summer means to me, but I've no wish to bring you down. I much prefer the crisp weather of Autumn and the changing leaves…
Summer to me is long lounging days spent reading in the shade, splashing in the pool with The Boy & hiding from the sun 🙂
Tomato and basil sandwiches! Everything else is just window dressing.
i can't put it in to words how much i love the ring!!! your work are so beautiful, it touches me in a way i can't describe….
ps:the size was perfect 🙂
summer for me is
the lovely feeling of linenclothes against my skin
a blooming garden
barefoot in the grass
the lovely smell on the clothes that has been dried outside in the wind
the sound of bees
Well these are all LOVELY definitions of summer! So glad it seems like you're all drinking it up with a long, twirly straw!
Janet at New Moon – hang in there sister! Fall will come sooner than later and then I'll go crazy again for the new season at hand and you can tell me all about your wooly sweaters, the musty leaves and the aspen groves burning bright yellow! Gosh. I can't wait for fall!!! I have to keep reminding myself to live in the moment!
xx
Thanks to you ALL for sharing! Now I hear Rhonda squawking and I must go collect her egg!
CAMPING!! We are officially able to haul two kids camping, and each occasion is enjoyed by all!
I'd also say early morning outside runs, backyard BBQ's, mojitos, and gardening. Love.
xx, C
For me it's all about:
Fans in open windows.
yes…the soothing fan…winter or summer!
p.s. my heart bursts for you two and your time together!
