Let’s talk about this insane thing:
…this intergalactical piece of spacedom…
…this oozing green piece of vegetational detritus…
…this martian stun gun…
…this gold tongued venus fly trap…
…this fruit blossom of supernova melon…
…I’m not even sure what to call it.
What does it remind you of?
I think it’s part alien, part lily.
It’s built of sterling, gold and resin. I’ve been working on it for a couple of weeks, on and off, resin takes time to cure…and the resin work with this design was a bit of a wretched chore…
It was designed to be worn on a pointer finger so that it can rest across four fingers, like a napping flower. The resin I used to fill the petals, or leaves, I colored an acidic green hue. It’s crazy looking. Psychedelic. The petals (leaves) were repoussed before they were forged so when you look down through the resin, you can see the trail of texture on both sides of the metal. It turned out better than I expected it would.
I love it when that happens…
To me a looks like a plant from the exotic tropics but it probably prefers to be called this neon bit of intergalactical nature, at least I am sure it has a twin some place out there : )
Ooooh. I love her quirkiness, she looks alive and deserves a name fitting her deadly beauty…if only I could think of one.
some lovely hybrid of orchid/venus fly-trap meets a garden snake?
it looks like a secret pet that would treat its owner with kindness… kissing her fingers with its gold tip. but would nip at those who dare lay a hand on its wearer with ill-intentions.
it's curious and seductive!
BEAUTIFUL and imaginative ๐

It reminds me of a venus flytrap from out of this world. Quite beautiful
ahhhh, little shop of horrors all the way
and it is fabulous!!
WAY COOL plume…way WAY cool…………..
I'm thinking it could hold hemlock. If worn, I would certainly stab someone close to me. How about "Wicked Gorgeous" or "Something Wicked and Wonderful This Way Comes…"
Venus fly trap for sure!!!!!
You could poke your eye out with that thing! Just had to offer a motherly comment to the mix. Look out now!
*love it*
pure and simple.
*love it*
definitely intergalactic.
and forestful.
all at the same time.
It reminds me of a hungry milkweed pod!
You have a wonderful imagination. I love your work.
A Golden Tendril Snake from Epsilon Eridani, if I ever saw one. Known for its devious ways. Lives in the Emerald Nut Tree.
In my world, it is called beautiful!
hi.. just dropping by here… have a nice day! http://kantahanan.blogspot.com/
Love this! Seeing this sculpture reminded me of this crazy 3D ring I made for a challenge… it was my first experiment of many things in metalwork, and it shows, but I still like it. But in the end it doesn't compare at all to your superhero plant, and I'd wear YOURS in a heartbeat! ๐
You can see my bizarre ring here :

It makes me think of exotic plants that are hiding deep in the woods that no one has ever seen before, then one goes exploring one day and finds a human to view it and suddenly the human can't decide to either expose it just tease our minds with the possibility of something so exotic existing somewhere, is that what you are doing Plume?
Alien? Nah. Brilliant? Yes.
Exotic Beauty, indeed. your talent never seems to fail you, plume.
i love it when i see something you've made, that i glimpsed in process in your studio in person a few weeks ago. or even before that, in a tiny ziplock baggie on your kitchen table. or even before that, in the light in your eyes or the spark in your words 7 years ago.
we've come a long way, my friend. and we've a long way to go still…together.
love.
FEED ME!!!
(Audrey II)
That is one radically cool organism. I would love to have seen you create her.
She may be fierce, but she's a friend.
:)))

I had a hunch there was going to be a lot of Little Shop of Horrors and Venus Flytrappppppp…..
๐
These comments are all so kind. You know, if you were to tell me that this ring is crap, I'd be scarred for life and I'd never engage creatively ever again….so it's probably good that you can see the beauty in this piece.
!!!
I do too…even though I don't have a clue where the path is leading…
xx
PS Elli, I love your beautiful Scandinavian mind. xx
You are an artist Jillian, congratulations!!! You always inspires me!
