Round Two

This is round two of the Host Series.
These necklaces are composed of sterling, copper and enamel.
The design series has evolved to a new place.  Now the lichen-ous pendants are actually built of two enameled components that come together as a toggle closure.  Nifty.
I over fired two sets in robin’s egg blue and tallow pink and the third piece is in solid, over fired white.
Beautiful.
They look like this on:
That texture makes me crazy — makes me totally nuts.
These pieces are:
Totally weird.
Totally organic.
Totally titillating, for those who operate on a cellular level.

Protoplasmically and licheniferoussly yours truly,
The Plume

Honestly i am a bit in love with this whole series.
    Gorgeous.

  12. your job very top good day by day ….

  13. My goodness, you make beautiful things.

  14. I really love how you are letting the metal guide you and move you toward more sculptural pieces. I am drawn to your free form jewelry. It really feels like you sat there and pondered and searched for direction throughout the process. Love that!
Jewelry sometimes is so functional and premeditated. Just creating is grand for the soul.

Kathleen: I AM moving toward more sculptural pieces. It's true. Making the Host Necklaces is a really intuitive process. Generally speaking, I do not work like a traditional goldsmith. I don't make detailed plans and drawings and measurements for the projects I'm working on. I'll usually have an idea in my mind of what I'd like to make or I've done some loose sketching of a design to work off of but when I sit down with the metal and stone, I really do let the materials tell me what to do. It's good to be flexible sometimes.

Thank you for this comment. x

  19. Jillian, I never post, but I'm posting today to say that these are brilliant. Making the clasp the pendant is pure genius.
And, oh, how we miss our weekends with you two at the compound.
Give the dogs hugs and (exactly) one kiss from us.
