Button Down

I know there are far more important things to discuss than clothing, but let’s take a moment to talk about clothing anyway, shall we?

I’m on a button down shirt bender.
It’s true.
These days, I’m finding myself continually drawn to clean classic lines in my wardrobe.  Tailored shirts tucked neatly into smart, well fitting pants with a pretty belt to draw the two together.
Tall boots.
Woolly socks.
Color.
Simplicity.
And most importantly, a handsome, loyal bird dog by my hip.

Am I the only one?
What are you wearing these days?

i'm in student survival mode (trying to heat the apartment)… layering and most certainly of all zipping up those vests 🙂

(my vest collection has grown quickly in grad school)

    adorable button down, me lady!

I have been simplifying in a sense as well. This time of year I wear many layers, but usually leggings are always the pant of choice. I have been really focusing on the muted natural tones and earthy tones, but I am a sucker for stripes, so I always love wearing them! I add a pop of color usually with one of my scarves that I make or with one of the minor layers.

oh, also, I have been really inspired by the simplicity and comfort of this style: http://littleowlarts.blogspot.com/2011/01/equestrian-wish.html

  4. Wool in a way I've never done before. I have this sick habit of only buying summer clothes in the winter (they're so cheap! Who could resist?) and remedied it this year with a couple good trips to Value Village.

Cardigans and turtlenecks, tight-long sleeved shirts to transform my summer dresses and tank tops, shawls and armwarmers and legwarmers made from old sweater sleeves.

This is the coziest winter I've known!

I'm wearing clothes that are quickly becoming too big. Elastic is good. It's mostly leggings for me as well. I do the thing that everyone hates and wear them as pants. At this minute, I'm in a dull purple, cotton pair, with an oatmeal-coloured sweater, and neon purple socks. I wore green and brown rain boots to school.

Several men in trucks along my route home were appreciative…

Like the emo cashier, though, I like your style. When I am a grown-up lady, I hope to look like you.

  6. Love your hot pink pants!!!!

Wearing layers upon layers of polar fleece over several tees and comfy purple velour CK sweat pants (my favourite find). Socks and a toque.

And yup, wearing this while still in my house!
It's been around -20 to -30 celsius lately. Brrrrrrrrr. Even hot tea isn't staving off the cold.

  7. Billowing skirts.
    Smartly buttoned sweaters.
    Monochrome colored tights.
    Yellow wellies.
and a flower in my ponytail.

All atop a black and yellow road bike.

P.s. LOVE THOSE PANTS. Hot damn.

    P.p.s Word verification = Boobie

  8. Many a plethora of simple dressese with my leather belt… but today was a mad men inspired day with a high waisted pencil skirt, and leopard print cardigan 🙂

Button down plaids for me.. and my favourite jeans and boots. That's what I want to wear everyday. (With a splash of Plumage at my lobes…)

  13. I'm already pulling out the short sleeved shirt and tanks…

  14. The Noisy Plume: says

Fawn: I approve of the plaid and the Plumage. x

    Melissa: That's disgusting.

I love classics and button-downs. You must have heard me the other day complaining to my friend of the horrendous "fashion" in the stores that make me puke…so sorry had to say that…You look smashing Mlle…I wear scientist outfit, boring khakis and shirts xx

Grey! anything grey, I know it's a trend but when I look back I've always been drawn to that colour. And stripes – anything striped I must have it!
