My sleep was thick with dreams last night.
I woke up this morning with a thousand insights to share with you on the topics of love, beauty and truth.
I spent the day up the mountain from here, thigh deep in snow and aspen groves. By the time I saw the ice and heard the mountain water, nothing really mattered anymore…
Do please pardon my silence,
but what else is there to say?
I saw the ice.
I saw the patterns of nature —
the fall of shadow on snow,
the textures therein,
the cascade of beauty in all directions.
All my efforts in this life (my small, fumbling human attempts) felt pathetic and unoriginal.
I felt filled up and overflowing.
I felt drained and free of pride.
When I enter my studio next, it will be a place of humility, a nest of grace.
I am full with soul.
I am beneath this Wing.
oh goodness, you weren't kidding! What amazing beauty. I love ALL of the shots!
And I have to say, your little Plumbalina is sooo cute! (and I love the name, it is great!)
I completely revelled in the ice crystal structures.
Plum is gorgeous no matter where or when.
Fabulous shots of hot colour in the snow.
Amen, to the occasional (and sometimes timely) freeing of our egos!
Love that.
nature knows best, doesn't she?
creating the most beautiful structures beyond or imagination 🙂
thanks for the hike!
i love getting to ride along via our camera's lens and your gracious sharing!

sharp intake of breath…
so MUCH beauty.
and no surprise at all that at noon today when i was outside with the kids at school and looked up at two particular clouds floating in an aqua blue sky i knew that THIS overrides it all– this beautiful natural creation overrides everything that man can ever create.
and that is how it should be.
Holy Moses, those ice crystals are absolutely, amazingly , astoundingly beautiful!!!!! thanks for sharing some winter with me, living in Hawaii is beautiful, but you miss out on all those lovely wintery delights!
So stunning & So humbling, Jillian.
You inspire all.
Sending much love,
-lulu

i now feel quite pathetic and simply small…but in a most wonderous way…much thanks for sharing and bringing meself back to what matters…
Wowee!
Postcard pack, please! :o)
Australia is a little upside down, I must say. It's hot here at Christmas time, and in winter the snow hides on the tip of the mountain tops.
Inconveniently inaccessible at the best of times, so thank you so much for these refreshing photos!

Lady Dove said it best…
le sigh indeed.
I imagine you making a tiara and earrings fit for an ice fairy.
le swoon.
How is it that you manage to capture all the minute details of the world around us all the time? I wish I could do it… I feel like I can't possibly try to keep all of that inside there's just too much to take in. But you do it oh so beautifully.
xoxo,
Cathy
LOVE that deep snow and jackrabbit tracks and your pink and orange contrast and the delicate crystals; am curious to see what they all inspire you to do in your nest of grace under the Wing.
🙂
Thanks so much for these wonderful comments and sentiments! I wish you could have all been there with me in the ice and snow — it was a transformative day.
Go gently!
