For the ladies of March:
A Sanctuary Ring* featuring aquamarine and iolite.
Oh this ring.
Oh this ring sings a song such as you haven’t yet heard.
It is ocean on rocks.
Sky on tree tops.
The music of mountain water.
Sun beam and forest dream.
May she go to a good home.
You may find her in the shop tomorrow!
xx
*There’s some nesting going on here–
a mindlessness to my days, the constant complaint of “not enough hours in a day” falling from my lips (The cold of the heart pine floors on my feet in the morning. The quiet of the winter world. Birdsong falling lightly on thin, cold air.)
I’ve been greedy for my own space.
I’m a glutton for solitude.
I’m finding sanctuary in these 103 year old farm house walls, in the rise of the mountains outside the front door — refuge, quiet, safety.
This is my home, from here I’ll find my way.
I haven’t known what to do with myself out in the studio but that buoyant notion of sanctuary keeps drifting up to the surface of my mind and heart; the smooth width of the wings of God covering me over:
My portion.
My cup.
My refuge.
When the walls fail to hold me in,
(when this world lets me down),
no matter where I go, no matter where I stand,
I’m never without my shadow.
Likewise, I’m never without this offer of grace
that pushes me gently, one hand at the small of my back, into sanctuary.
Time and time again.
stunning ring. Oh to be born in the month of March.
Sending you lots of love dear Jillian

What a beautiful ring and words. =)
Your work in both jewelry and writing is simply marvelous. I don't know how else to describe them. ^_^
Can't wait to see and read more~!
M: Love you to the moon and back again.
Elizabeth: Well! Thank you for saying such a thing to me today! I've been in the depths of quasi-despair all afternoon because my life has felt uprooted for the past month due to weeks and weeks of WONDERFUL house guests…with three more weeks of house guests to come. I'm tired enough that I feel like I have nothing of interst to say, nothing to photograph of interest and nothing to create of interest.
I keep returning to the same old themes…for comfort more than anything else…just to stay in the creative habit. I feel like I'm repeating myself.
I don't feel like I have engaged my creative bones in WEEKS and it's giving me soul ache.
To be loved by you today is the greatest grace. Thank you.
Well, I am a March baby, tomorrow is in fact my "birth" day. The good old Ides of March. And how I wish I was going to be around tomorrow, to see what other treasures you may come up with….never the less, I hope she goes to a perfectly scrumptious lady indeed!
beautiful creations as always my fine friend.
nothing wrong with sanctuary either. it is good for the soul.
xoxoxox,

SHREEK! GASP! what a wonderful ring….
from one who recently found sanctuary in your 103-year-old house, you *must* know, dear j-feather plume:
to purchase your silversmithery.
reading your well-stated poems.
soaking up all your photos.
all of it….ALL of it….VERY desirable. to me. to many women.
with appreciation for all you create, be it photographic or silver and stone, or just allowing us to touch your mere presence::
i thank you.

so tremendously lovely
xo
you know … the thing i admire most — that i SO look up to in you (and your ART), and which is the very hardest thing to do, is to go back to that which has already been done. yet, you do it with a consistency and grace unlike anything i have seen. though you may feel it uncreative and ache inducing, my eyes see it for the first time, every time. each revisited theme flows from you and through us like a fresh breeze …
Wow! That is indeed a deep ocean of beauty!
Lots of lvoe!
