Look at these pods!
Can you believe I picked them here in Idaho?
They look so tropically cosmic.
What’s more, each one measures nearly five
inches in length — they’re huge.

I was having a ho-hum day here: woke up and went to make coffee only to see I was out of milk, ran to the store for milk, only to realize I was out of coffee when I arrived home so I had tea, tried to feed the cats but I was out of cat food, ran to the store for cat food (but forgot to get coffee), tried to print shipping labels but ran out of printer ink, ran to the store for printer ink, tried to take my medicine but was out so I ran to the pharmacy for a prescription refill, tried to solder something small but ran out of oxygen, ran to the welding supply for a new tank but forgot my wallet, ran home, ran back to the welding supply for my oxygen tank…..and on and on it goes…

Some days I just can’t get anything done
but then I find a bunch of wacko humongous seed pods of enormousness that look like they grew on the planet Venus and everything is awesome.
Nothing is done, but everything is awesome.
That’s just the fact of the matter.

on those kind of days, I just have to laugh at myself and everything around. when it seems "nothing's going smoothly," humor keeps away pure frustration. (don't get me wrong, there's still frustration, just handled differently.)

hope your evening is more smooth. perhaps a glass of wine and a few deep breaths xx

p.s. any word on when your RW will return? hope soon!

    Mandy: Why thank you!

Lyns: Funny enough, I don't feel very frustrated at all. At 10AM, I just sort of surrendered and did whatever needed doing! 🙂 I'm going running at 5. I'll feel superb after I put on some miles.

I do have a tentative return date for Robbie!!! I can't wait for him to come home. I'm worn out. 🙂

  4. Lynsey Phelps - VerreEncore says

good for you! i have a tendency to internalize things for a while before letting go of the need to control/ get everything perfect. what a good feeling to accept and surrender. think i need to practice acceptance more often.

    have a jolly jog 🙂

  5. Gorgeous milkweed pods!
Watch out when they burst open!

Ah, that kind of day. Ok, I was giggling. I'm impressed you weren't frustrated. Wow. That's good!

  6. Y * O * U
    are a
    bunch of wacko humongous awesomeness!
    Heck yeah!

p.s. my 'word verification' word was
    "BABLA"! tee hee

"Nothing is done, but everything is awesome." I love that. 🙂

Mash: HA HA! Well. You know, during the summer months when Robert is away, about three days a week are spent like today…it's the reason I'm so behind on EVERYTHING right now. I'm in such a good headspace currently that I'm rather unflappable.

  9. The Noisy Plume says

V Baby: HA HA!!! I have a lot of enormous love in my heart for you. xx

Kate: HI!!!!! I love it too. We need to let go more often. Don't we?

I am glad you found those pods and even more glad that I am not the only one with those days : )

  11. They look like milkweed, I think….we have them here and I lurrrrrve them!….

These are great kind of days, sometimes, because they make you surrender.. ( also love the reminder that I am so not 'in control' of life)!…xo

  12. haha i love what you had to say here and identify with it perfectly. sometimes i end up happier at the end of one of these unproductive days than at the end of a super jam-packed one. *sigh* life is strange, don't you think?

  13. Alas, just looking at those pods makes me itch! But your narrative sounds like many days in my life too. LOL!

  14. There was definitely something askew cosmically today…. I myself among others were having 'that kind of day' topsy turvy!

  15. i love that feeling.
i love the statement of that feeling.

you keep my world aligned, you do.

    xx

[wishing and praying: robert to come back into your busy life.]

  16. Oh my heavenly days – days like this make me want to go back to bed and ask for a raincheck! It's truly wonderful when it pays off in pods. 🙂

I love the sentiment that while chaos abounds it is indeed "all good"…In hawaiian pidgin there is a fabulous word that describes the "messed-upness" of a thing or a situation, and yet conveys that things will be alright…Hammerjang!
    Pronounced more like "hammah-jang"…

  18. I feel this way alot..back and forth…here and there…all over the place with a whole lot of nothing done…but yes indeed, I will agree tis pretty awesome here too.;)

  19. Gabby Rogers says

Dang! Mercury isn't even in Retrograde either. I have days like that too. I always think I should go back to bed and start over 🙂

    The pods are amazing.

  20. I can see you running about at exaggerated speed, thanks for the chuckles! Those pods are ripe for casting.

    Love your new profile picture.

    Love the seeds.

Love the day you had. Mostly the way you take it and breathe it into something beautiful…

    xo,

  22. HaaaaaHaahahahaha!

I'm laughing WITH you because I am SO familiar with days like that. Downright Sisyphean…with multiple boulders! But like you, then I come across something like those milkweed pods and everything snaps into perspective.

GREAT to hear you have at least a tentative time for the return of the smokejumper to look forward to!

  23. pretty cute that i only want to say absolutely …….

Mondays! One of my seven favorite days. Even when they're wacky and chaotic, they're a gift.

Also, mother nature is an expert at making everything better.

  25. I had to shake my head and do a double-take of that first picture.

It looks like a seed pod, now that I know, but I thought (for a good hard few seconds) that it was a shot of a lady in a really great skirt – arms behind her back, hiding a handful of leaves.
