Quiet, soft, moon-ish, the last of the wildflowers, camera shy, two-track, dust, happiness, hills, sunset, a pinch of pinot gris, a good book, and finally driving it home with two headlights.

  1. Beautiful!

I was thinking of you and Robert last night – isn’t that strange to think of people you don’t know, but know, ya know? – We are on the boarder of the largest wildfire in Oregon. As the crow flies the L3 evacs are happening about 6 miles from my door.

We went up the mountain to visit the fire tower watch guy, we’ve seen helis and tankers and bulldozers and crew trucks transporting back and forth. The smoke and ash are thick.

But none of it touched my heart like watching a group of men pile out of a crew truck at the store. Tired, sweaty, dirty… and smiling. You could tell they loved what they were doing…. and this small town loves each and every one of them too.

  2. i love this kind of night.

  8. Oh my heart…I want to visit, so badly!

  9. Sunlight streaming, dogs running happily, and reading atop a mountain= perfection!! Question- where were you getting your dog gear from? I am in need of a new collar- my beast busted hers. :0

  10. ahhh– a very satisfying evening spent in good company. the moon was particularly resplendent last night, wasn’t it? I like the pictures of you, especially the one sitting cross-legged where the grown-up girl still bears a strong resemblance to the little girl who remains within.

  12. Farley looks like he should be mid-air in a bouncy house! That look is pure joy!

  13. I just found your blog and have been enjoying it immensely, from your adventures to your photos, to your jewelry. I have even been perusing your old posts. Lovely stuff!

I have to admit every time I see you sitting in the grasses in some lovely spot, my first thought is “Tick Check.” Of course this is coming from someone who had lyme. I see ticks everywhere.

  14. Twilight + hills= such beauty. Thank you for the pictures, as always. They just take me away… and Penelope’s brown butt (with swirls) is so cute. As I have had a dauchshund, she was always on the trail of some sort burrowing animal!!!! dig-dig-dig *snort*

  15. “exhale”

    love and light

  16. What a peaceful post! I always enjoy the photos of adventure and wild, open space that you share (I have been sorely in need of peace and space and seek it out every moment I can throughout each day!). I also ADORE the photo of Penelope wildly digging her little doxy heart out! <3
