“What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? – it’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”
[On The Road :: Kerouac]
All magnificent shots, looks like a wonderful meander home! You are giving me some serious wanderlust and making me long to explore a whole new territory!!! Oh, and I adore the shot of you and that tater-a-roni boy.
Keeponkeepin’on, my dear!

Everything here is beautiful, as always, but I just love that green beaded/embroidered shirt! Do you know anything about its origins, or was it a lucky thrifted find?
Thrifted!!! I WISH!!!
I splurged on that top while in New Mexico this spring. Isn’t it beautiful?!!!!! It’s hand woven and embroidered…I think it came from Guatemala.
Very beautiful. And all the more special that you loved it enough to treat yourself with it!
Oh… all so so beautiful… that amazing stormy peach sky and tiny moon… and you, in the green shirt ~ stunning!
Love your life, lady.
The very first thing I do when I get to work (shhh!) is log on and come here. Your photos and words are like meditation, clearing me to start the day with love and beauty in my heart. Thank you for every photo and every word.
Breathtaking photos! I love how you find the most beautiful places to share with us. Those huge, deep valleys are magical. Nice to see Mr. Robert again. (but where is little Penne?)
She’s here!
I’ll try to get a photo of her soon!
Absolutely stunning! It’s like you’ve taken us on an entire road trip while we’re plunked here in front of our computers. As someone else above already mentioned – what a fantastic green blouse! One among a million little details that turn your photos into great stories.
I wanna to got to sleep now, and dream of your images all night… :)Thank you!
The photographs, the colors, the ambiance, the airstream at night….etc…etc…I do repeat myself (and in this case it is not a drama) I adore this blog, your life everything!!!!

Your photography makes my heart squeeze and yearn to explore, to breath fresh mountain air, to be present in each moment and to be thankful for the wonders of nature. Thank you for inspiring me with each and every post x
Oh you tell such a delicious story…this is my triple dutch chocolate layer cake for the eyes binge…& leaves me wanting more! To see you out, up & immersed in your Soul Studio, and with your boys this trip, more & more each day, each year, has been sheer delight! Even though I’m rooted deep in my cement canyon, your adventures set me free. Thank you for everything you do. Xo
You’ve got my heart beating overtime for a fall road trip…Hawaii is beautiful and all that, but nothing beats the Fall colors, I miss them HARD this year! Thanks for sharing…Im going to stare at your pictures a little longer 🙂
Jillian, this is truly my favourite series of pictures from you. And that’s quite something!
They are subtle in colour and strong in mood, shimmering with light and life, and love.
You are equally magnificent.
Oh! Plume.
The work season has just begun for my little family, and it’s been a long week, hours and hours spent working with a team of guys, building a climbing wall in downtown Chicago. It’s not without beauty. It’s large, industrial, urban; steel and plywood. And there’s something to be said for long, hard days of work, of nights where I sleep hard, worn out and dreamless. But- but those photos fill my lungs with a mountain breeze, cold and thin. They soar into my heart like a hawk, and carry me away.
Thank you for sharing.
Love and smooches for the pooches-
Beth
PS: I’ve been listening to podcasts as I work, and I really loved this one! I loved all of the episodes of Meet the Composer, but this one made me think of you. Have you heard of John Luther Adams?
