This year I put together a necklace featuring one of my bison skulls, a gaggle of iolite and one of those huge silk tassels I’ve been working with for a couple of years now (they’re SO festive) — everything is suspended from a glorious opera length chain. When you choose to support me as an independent artist it contributes to our life in very real ways. You get a cocktail ring and then I buy a few bags of groceries. How real is that?!! What a stunning necklace! My dreams for 2017 are the simple kind, the things that go unnoticed unless they are not there. Like a wood shed next to my little mountain cabin I finished renovating this year. Digging the wood out from two feet of snow is no fun!

Like you, I always aim to fill my days with an adventure that touches the beauty of nature. In 2017, I plan on embarking on the biggest adventure of my lifetime: I will becoming a mother to our first born baby. We were lucky to find out that we were pregnant while on vacation in Wymoing this past summer. Along our road trip, we came across so many bison while exploring the grand plains and mountains. I weirdly started to feel a strange kinship towards them, like they were trying to share advice with me through their kind eyes. As a new mother, I hope to mimic our bison friends, to be peaceful yet powerful and strong when the time is needed. To tune in and truly embrace my inner spirit animal.

After being home with my infant for the past three months, I’m dreaming about going back to work full-time! I’m equal parts excited and guilty. I know I should WANT to stay home with my children all day, but I just have never been cut out for it and it’s hard for me to be cooped up at home – we end up going out every weekend just because we can. So I’m excited! I’m also dreaming about getting back into making art this year, as I’ve let it drop off since having kids. And also carving out some time to read more than I’ve been able to. I have a lot of dreams!

Little satangs, they are. We settled on 10 acres a few years ago out in Jasper Oregon and welcomed a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy to this farm of apple, pear and cherry and persimmon orchards. Your farm sounds real sweet with the trout pond and all. I don’t ever wear jewelry, not even a wedding ring for the last 30 years, but I sure like seeing the jewels and precious metals you manifest into prayers. You folks are surely blessed. I’d hang that necklace on my bedpost, probably.

I’m dreaming up a lot of things for 2017. I’ve been spending the past few months in the Baja peninsula of Mexico. It’s been an excellent place for conjuring up dreams. I’ll ring in the New Year down here and then a few weeks later begin wandering my way back towards home. I dream of starting an art journal, of letting my creative juices flow and taking action to bring wonderful, beautiful things into being. I dream of more writing.
