Is it beautiful where you are?

It is beautiful here.

Some things I’ve wanted to share with you:

This Meateater podcast episode on the topic of Bristol Bay and why the proposed Pebble Mine can never be allowed.

The Wild Salmon Box offered by the wonderful Salmon Sisters. The discount code thenoisyplume will grant you $25 off your purchase of a wild fish box that will arrive at your front door frozen and packaged in manageable serving portions. This discount code is good until November 16th. I’ve been looking to add some sort of wild seafood subscription to our chest freezers here and this fish is such a great option. This salmon is caught by the Salmon Sisters fishing fleet and sold directly to those who are unlucky enough to not be able to catch their own wild Alaskan salmon!!! Farm direct, ranch direct, fisherman direct is always the best way to procure fresh food while helping farmers, ranchers, and fisherman keep as much as their hard earned money as possible. Eliminate the middle man, eat wild salmon, and be well!

Ane Brun as the leaves turn crimson and twirl to the ground. Her voice is as ancient as the seasons. I love her version of All My Tears.

Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher — for any fans of the incredible work of Ed Curtis.

Hunt For The Wilderpeople — Kiwi movies are always quirky and special. This film has a sad beginning but there are many lighthearted, hilarious moments along the trail.

If you want to read about some great ladies (I’m lucky to call a few of them my friends) check out Katie Marchetti’s Women of the West column on the Modern Huntsman website. By the way, Volume SIX is on the way! I finished edits on the final draft of my story this morning, as a matter of fact. Hang on to your hats!

The West Against Itself — food for thought.
