Bonjour bonjour!

Whew.
Things are heating up here in Pokey.
RW and I spent a luxuriously warm weekend up to our elbows in bike grease and perennials.  Our garden is nearly set for summer with the exception of a few more flowering vines I plan on purchasing over the next few weeks.  I love a garden I can count on year to year.  Ours will be and is replete with poppies, columbines, Virgina creepers, clematis, lupins, hollyhocks, foxglove and a bunch of other beautiful stuffs.

When I wasn’t gardening,
I spent some time flowing through the sunset up in the hills.

The glorious glow of longer days can’t be ignored.
I find myself stretching for the last of the rays
and soaking up hot sunbeams like rain on desert.

Pinky is adjusting to his new home very nicely and in an effort to make him the loveliest kitten ever, we’ve been getting him used to all sorts of experiences and handling him quite a lot.  This shot is ensuite bath time.  What a fellow.  He’s got eyes like Paul Newman.

Penelope Pie is as devious as ever and she requires constant and close watching in order to prevent the catastrophic dispatching of newly planted pansies and petunias as evidenced by this photo where she looks a little soggy after I had to shoot her with the garden hose when I caught her rooting about my new pansy patch.

The Big One nearly blew a gasket when we bumped a batch of pheasant up in the hills.  Poor bird dog might go bonkers before September rolls around.

AND THUS, SUMMER BEGINS.

I’m trying to keep the flow of beautiful things steady in the shop and so today you’ll find:

LOVE is… ::::: laguna agate & sterling silver ::::: from the Word Definition Series

Soul Garden::mookaite from Australia & sterling silver

Pearly Gates Cuff::freshwater pearl and sterling silver
heavily rusticated and custom made for a 6 inch wrist

Miss Angelica

With a voice like that,
a voice that rings, clear as a bell, one can’t help but call her Angelica.
There it is again,
a song that wavers in the wind, rearranges the sunlight as it
pushes dapples through
tree halos,
casts itself into the dark recesses of the hills
over and
over;
a resounding echo encircling each blade of grass.
And the sage bows down
in the presence of
a wiser depth.
And the taproots of the juniper burrow deeper as
their emotions attempt to carry them away.

[mookaite & sterling & a silver song]
Angelica is in the shop now!
SHE’S SPECIAL.

…and plenty of new post earrings in the shop as we speak!
These beauties fit like little charms.  I jogged 5 miles in mine last night and didn’t feel them moving around or slopping about, despite their oversized nature, which is nice because I really like to exercise the dog while in a bit of  jewelry
DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU
It’s Friday here and looking like a weathery fright outside.
I’m going to feed the moggy and head to work!
Happy weekend to you all sugarplums.
Loving you from here to wherever you are this morning.

Stopping to Smell the Flowers

Boy howdy the yard is smelling great!

Besides the bevy of fruit trees and grapevines here at Plume Gables, I just discovered three lilac trees in the yard.  It’s sniffy delicious at the moment but I may go straight to heaven when the lilacs pop.  Are there any other lilac fans out there?
I’m just back from running with Farley in the hills and it was heady indeed.  The University area in town is pink, yellow white and red with blossoming trees.  It was all I could do to put one foot in front of the other when I was struck with the desire to lay down beneath a crab apple tree and simply breathe.
SOMETIMES
BREATHING IS
GOOD.

RW had field day today.  He and his crew hiked 12.3 miles up and down mountains in full line gear (45 pound packs, hand tools, chainsaws and fuel).  He’s tired.  So am I.  We’re laying about in bed watching our single television channel.  The Office (American version) just ended..I think that chick is pregnant…
I’m off to list a few earring in the Etsy shop!
I hope your all well!
XO
PS

Les nouveaux bijoux!

This is for Missoula, Montana:

But this is for you:

[kingman arizona turquoise & sterling silver]
I’m in a frenzy, building inventory from scratch for the upcoming shows.  Today I made 37 pairs of earrings and tomorrow I’ll start in on some rings.  I’m dividing the spoils between the Etsy shop  and the upcoming shows and gallery drops in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.  Believe it or not, it takes a lot of self control to not just let you see everything all at once!
I WANT TO SPOIL YOU ROTTEN.  BUT I SHOULDN’T.  ALL THAT EYE CANDY IS BAD FOR YOUR TEETH.

*********************************************************************************
I’m not a momma
but I sure to have a lot of love and respect for my mum and all the other mothers out there (especially the ones who like to read this blog).
You make the world go round and I hope you feel beautiful, strong, loved and special today!
I want to show my appreciation for you as well so please leave me a comment and tell me what you think the very best thing about being a mother is and I’ll enter your name to win these swanky Old Soul Earrings of the square persuasion!  The entry deadline is midnight tomorrow.
And yes,  if you are a kitty momma or a doggy momma or a parrot momma or a goat momma you can tell me the best thing about being a momma to something with fur, feathers or scales!

Next on the agenda is the introduction of Mister Pinkerton:

Who is SUCH a silly baby that he needs to be bottle fed!

Penelope Pie takes great delight in playing the part of baby-momma and especially enjoys giving Mister Pinks the puppy nibbles.  All over.

Also, this weekend the rest of the Fruits of the Spirit Necklaces made it into the shop.
The series is complete.
I kept “self-control” for myself (Lord knows I could use more of that).

And lastly, my most sincere apologies for taking so long to answer emails and convos this past week.  Our lives here at Plume Gables have reached a point of social insanity.  I’m doing my best to keep up with it all and I think I managed to catch up with everyone this morning.  If I missed your note, please do me the favor of re-sending it my way.
Love, The Plume
PS  I held an albino corn snake last night.
It was peach and yellow and had pink eyes.
I have a bit of a snake phobia and it was very therapeutic to hold something
that did not attempt to inject venom into my little human body.
It also did NOT bite and kill my weenie dog Tuba.
So I considered it my friend.
It had a tail like a ballerina.
