Oh boy….

Don’t worry.
I’ll make one for you too.

Virtue and Vice

Last night I was angry.
Last night I felt a silent rage and depression building up inside me.
And then I felt extreme pity for certain individuals for specific reasons I shant mention here.
I was overwhelemed with sadness and I strode purposefully out to my studio to make something ANYTHING to assuage my feelings.  I finished joy, peace, love and kindness and now I offer these four things to you.  These necklaces were started last week, and then their progress was stalled.  I wasn’t sure what to do with 4 necklaces of the same design.  I knew I wanted a theme that tied them all together, cohesively at that, but I couldn’t put my finger on what exact theme I should use.  My anger unearthed the idea of the Fruits of the Spirit:
LOVE JOY PEACE PATIENCE KINDNESS GOODNESS FAITHFULNESS GENTLENESS & SELF-CONTROL
[ ACCORDING TO GALATIANS  5:22-23]
I can get rather disgruntled.  I can have my feathers ruffled.  But I’m learning not to dwell on it.  I’m taking pride in the excellence of my work.  I’m taking delight in meticulously designing my work.  I’m crafting with joy, without pressure and I strive for honesty and integrity in my designs (both in the origin of a design, the components that build it and the actual quality of a finished piece right on down to my trademark bird buttons and hallmark):
I craft my work from 20 gauge sterling silver (anything else would be shoddy).
I hand saw my baseplates and most other components from sheet silver.
I use a pricing formula when pricing ALL of my work.
I hand buff, satin finish and/or polish my finished pieces which takes a lot of extra time BUT it provides extra care to the set stone which was cut with love and patience by a lapidary artist somewhere who happened to take the time to put a glorious high gloss finish on a stone.
I just thought I’d let you know!
Without further delay:
The Fruits of the Spirit Necklaces

That’s four.
Four virtues for four virtuous women.
Love to you all and happy Friday!

I’m actually not angry anymore though I did wake up this morning with serious TMD on the left side of my jaw and now my entire head hurts.  This is why I try to live stress free as much as possible.  BUT…I digress.  I am currently only 103 sales away from hitting 2000 sales in my Etsy shop and I wanted to invite you all to a 2000 party at Plume Gables.  I’m not sure yet about the details but my offer stands and is VERY VERY GOOD I’d like to have it in about a month.  Let me know if you are free and I’ll arrange for a tent city on the grounds of The Gables.  More on this in the next blog post.
